Vinyl film changes the look of a car without repainting it. Colour, texture, pattern — all of it goes on top of the factory paint and comes off when you have had enough of it. The car keeps its original paintwork underneath.
Three reasons to wrap a car in vinyl
The look. The choice of finishes is wider than with paint: matte and gloss films, metallic, carbon, satin, chrome. You can wrap the whole car or pick out individual parts — the roof, the mirrors, the bonnet.
Keeping the paint. Under the film the factory finish does not fade and does not pick up small scratches. When you sell, a car with untouched original paint is worth more than a repainted one — a difference buyers notice in the listing.
Money. Vinyl wrapping costs less than a full respray, and the result is reversible: take the film off and the body returns to how it was.
Vinyl and paint protection film are not the same thing
They are often confused. Vinyl is for appearance and gives only surface protection. Polyurethane paint protection film is thicker and made for protection: it takes stone strikes and small chips, and the clear grades do not change the colour of the car at all.
If the goal is a different look, you want vinyl. If the goal is protecting the body on the motorway, you want PPF. They can be combined: PPF on the bonnet and front bumper, coloured vinyl on everything else.
What can be wrapped
✔ the whole body, or individual panels
✔ the roof — the popular gloss black option
✔ chrome trim: mouldings, the grille, window surrounds
✔ lights — film protects headlamps from sand and small chips
✔ interior parts: gloss panels, the console, door inserts
How the film behaves in use
Vinyl is made for everything from hard frost to summer heat and is not affected by the salt used on roads in winter. Wash the car by hand or touchless, keep the pressure washer away from the edges of the film, and avoid abrasive products.
Removal
Film that was applied properly comes off without a trace and the panel returns to its original state. The exception is repainted panels: if the paint was applied badly, it can be damaged on removal. We inspect such parts before starting and tell you about the risk in advance.
What it costs
Every quote is individual: the price depends on the size and class of the car, on whether the whole body or only certain parts are being wrapped, and on the film you choose. We give the exact figure after seeing the car.
