WHY IS CAR TINTING NECESSARY?

How long does tinting take?
About an hour. The film is plotter-cut to your exact model, so there is no need to dismantle doors or remove glass — you pick the car up the same day.
Do you tint windshields?
Yes. Three options: all windows, the windshield together with the front doors, or the windshield alone. For the windshield we usually suggest athermal film — it cuts heat without darkening your view. Windshield protection film is a separate service: it does not tint, it absorbs stone impacts.
How is athermal film different from regular tint?
The difference is how much infrared radiation the film reflects — that is what heats the cabin. At the same darkness, nano-ceramic NEX reflects 96% of IR, metallised ICY about 36%. Compare NEX 35 and ICY 35: light transmission is nearly identical, 33.5% against 34.7%, yet NEX blocks 56% of solar energy against 36%. Does the film block GPS, phone or key fob signal?
No. Athermal NEX is nano-ceramic and contains no metal layers at all, so it does not affect radio, GPS, phone or key fob. The ICY series has thin metallised layers, but their influence is minimal — the manufacturer states this separately for both series.
Do you remove old film?
Yes, it is part of the job. We remove the old film, clean the adhesive residue off the glass, and only then apply the new film — otherwise an even application is impossible.
